The Staffin Island Ceilidh Band
We are a 5 piece Scottish Dance ensemble based in Central Scotland. Our typical set up includes 2 fiddles, a fret less bass, acoustic guitar and drum kit. We also provide a dedicated caller, who is excellent at getting even the most unbudgeable bums out of seats and onto the dance floor. two of our five musicians are talented vocalists, and we play over 30 songs, teach 18 dances and play a range of fun and lively tune arrangements.
Our Dances range from the traditional Gay Gordons and Dashing White Sergeant, to the less traditional Witches Reel and Flying Scotsman. We also teach Hamilton House, Reel of the 51st and any other more complex dances, on request.
We love taking song requests. Most of our repertoire is a culmination of requests taken for first dances at weddings, and songs for birthday parties.
We jump at any chance to get on the road, so whether your ceilidh is in Thurso or Timbuktu, we are more than happy travel to your special event.
A PA kit is provided, we have PAT tested equipment, public liability, and a tasteful playlist of traditional music at your disposal.

Hello, I'm Ally and I go by the stage name "Acoustic Ally".
I am an experienced guitar/vocal performer in venues such as lively pubs, house parties, cafes/restaurants, and hotel bars.
Drawing from over 450 songs I can tailor a set to work in any of the above settings. I would describe my set as mainly 60s - 90s rock, pop, and soul classics, but I can deliver some more recent hits too. Whatever the age-range I can guarantee to create a positive vibe in your venue.
I'm 100% reliable, have my own PA system and am able to travel to work daytime or nights around the Glasgow area. As an alternative to solo work (depending on the venue's budget), I often gig as a duo. For this I use an excellent percussionist / vocalist, which really fills the sound which works well with a bigger "weekend" crowd.

Events 116 is a group of Event Management students in Edinburgh who are putting on a charity event, Thursday 11th February at The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh's City Centre and are looking for a band to play at our event.
As this is a charity event and we have a low budget we are looking for a band who are willing to play for free.
However we will give each band member a free ticket worth £10. Our chosen charity is SAMH - Scottish Association for Mental Health.
The band would be playing from roughly half 8 to half 9 and its up to yourselves whether you play your own songs or/and covers.
The band would be required to come set up around half 6 and we have a sound engineer to help with this. The venue does not supply a backline so you will be required to have all your own equipment.

Formed in 2010, The Edmond Bilal Band are an essential part of the new wave of French Jazz. Tipping their hat to the great jazz of the 1960's be-bop period, the band like to describe themselves as jazz, funk, classic style fusion. The band who hail from Bordeaux consists of Paul Robert-saxaphone, Philippe Guegue-keyboards, Mathias Monseigne-guitar and Curtis Efoua Ela on drums.
For the past three years the band has held a month long residency at the world famous Marciac Jazz Festival where artists such as Chick Corea, Melody Gardot, Wynton Marsalis and Stanley Clarke have performed. Recently, drummer Curt was honored to win the best instrumentalist award at the Paris National Jazz Festival. This band are on the up and looking forward to making new friends at selected dates in the UK during October, when they will be recording their third album. Acoustic Performers wanted for Sofi's Bar In Leith
Sofi's Bar is seeking talented acoustic performers for a variety of upcoming events in 2014/15. Please note you MUST BE ABLE TO PLAY TOTALLY ACOUSTIC! Our license stipulates no amplification, however we're a small bar so most solo/duo/groups etc should be able to be heard no problem, however this obviously rules out some types of bands/performer. All genres considered, we also have a house piano so pianists are welcome to get in touch. These will be paid gigs, however the fees reflect the smallness of our bar and are non negotiable. Rock band looking for gigs/venues anywhere. We are a band of aspiring musicians called ‘The Hecklers', a four piece of age around 18/19, which consists of two guitarists/vocals, a bassist and a drummer. We play originals, which are of ‘Foo Fighters' and ‘Queens of The Stone Age' style/influence and can play covers of any style/era wanted. We have played many clubs,pubs and venues including two filmed by the BBC and have received positive feedback from well-known bands such as ‘Belle and Sebastian'. We are keen to play anywhere and everywhere to gain more experience and hopefully more popularity. The band can play electric or acoustic sets and also, would happily be the warm up/support act for any other artist/band.

Miss Country Blue & The Jure Grando Band are an alternative band available for bookings throughout the year. They write all their own material and the music is influenced by genres such as rock, rockabilly, blues, dark country and burlesque.

Duo available for gigs and functions
The Journeymen are taking bookings for gigs from June through till the end of the year.
They play all sorts of styles ranging form Ceilidh and Folk, through to Classic Country, Pop, Rock, Soul and Swing.
They are an Accordion and Guitar/Vocals Duo with a big sound. They can play acoustically, or with custom recorded tracks.
They have played in pubs, social clubs, theatres, ships, church halls, back gardens, and even in a kitchen!
The diary is filling up fast, so get in touch before it's too late.
We are currently looking for space to ideally set up and practice at our leisure. Because of the amount of equipment we use, we are looking for somewhere we can leave the gear set up and rehearse on a regular basis. We would be willing to share with another dedicated band and would listen to any offers of a share or otherwise. Premises would need to be secure and comfortable enough to work in. Cuddly toys would be a bonus.
